Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings will make its new electric sportscars in Britain from 2025.

In remarks to the Financial Times, the manufacturer of the country's perhaps most iconic automobile, Lawrence Stroll, said the new vehicles would be built at plants in England and Wales.

Stroll, who led the £535m rescue of the firm in 2020, holds a 22% stake in the carmaker, and has set a target for £500m in profits on £2.0bn in sales by 2025.

Mercedes Benz might be chosen to supply the batteries for the EV's but the company was looking at all available options.

As of 1213 GMT, shares of Aston Martin were higher by 1.29% to 1,957.0p.
