AstraZeneca appoints Nazneen Rahman as science committee chair
AstraZeneca has announced a series of board committee changes including the appointment of Nazneen Rahman as the chair of the drug company’s science committee.
Professor Rahman will become permanent chairman of the science committee on 1 July after leading it on an interim basis since November. She will also join the company’s nomination and governance committee.
Rahman joined AstraZeneca’s board in June 2017. Her other jobs include heading the division of genetics and epidemiology at the Institute of Cancer Research, London, and the cancer genetics unit at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. Astra-Zeneca’s website says she is also a singer-songwriter.
Shriti Vadera will step down from AstraZeneca’s audit committee on 30 June. The former Labour government minister had already said she would leave the board by 31 December. She will be replaced on the audit committee by Deborah DiSanzo, who became a non-executive director in December.
Sheri McCoy, the former boss of Avon Products and a Johnson & Johnson veteran, will join AstraZeneca’s remuneration committee on 1 July. McCoy has been on AstraZeneca’s board since October.
