Avon Protection has announced the receipt of a significant contract from the US Army on Monday.

The London-listed company confirmed its third delivery order, valued at $36m, as part of the ‘Next Generation Integrated Head Protection System’ (NG IHPS) helmet contract.

It was first awarded the contract in September 2021.

“This order is a testament to the strength of our long-term contract positions, the growing demand in our addressable markets and the trust our customers place in our cutting-edge technologies every single day, all of which further underpin our position as a leader in mission-critical ballistic head protection,” said chief executive officer Jos Sclater.

At 0839 GMT, shares in Avon Protection were up 3.7% at 1,010p.
