BA cancels more than 50 flights after more computer chaos

British Airways has cancelled at least 50 Heathrow flights at the start of the Bank holiday weekend due to a computer problem affecting online check in.
The airline’s website asked passengers to check their flight status before heading to the airport. Media reports said the glitch was affecting short-haul flights to and from the west London airport.
“We’re aware of a technical issue, which we have been working hard to fix,” the statement read.
The airline, owned by IAG, was hit with technical problems last December, when a fault caused major disruption to the airline’s schedule for two hours, predominantly on long-haul flights, because planes were unable to access the global flight plan system.
