Babcock's Kate Swann to retire as non-exec

Babcock announced that independent non-executive director Kate Swann has decided to retire from the board with effect from 31 December.

The engineering support services company said Swann, who joined the board in June 2011, was retiring due to increasing travel commitments in her role as chief executive officer of SSP Group.

Swann is a former CEO of WH Smith, and a former managing director of Argos and Homebase.
