BAE confirms £5bn Qatar deal

Qatar has agreed to buy 24 Typhoon fighter jets for £5bn from BAE, the company confirmed on Monday.

The deal includes a “bespoke support and training package”, it said, adding that the contract was subject to financing conditions and receipt of first payment, which are expected to be fulfilled no later than mid-2018.

The first delivery is expected to commence in late 2022.
