Balfour Beatty says KPMG to replace Deloitte as external auditor

Infrastructure group Balfour Beatty has appointed KPMG as external auditor for the year ending 31 December 2016, replacing Deloitte, who was auditor since 2002.

Deloitte will audit the group's accounts for the year ending 31 December 2015.

Balfour said shareholder approval to confirm the appointment of KPMG will be sought at the AGM in May next year.

Graham Roberts, chairman of the Audit, Risk & Assurance Committee, said: "We thank Deloitte for their significant contribution as Balfour Beatty's auditor over the last 14 years and we look forward to working with KPMG in the future."

At 1145 GMT, Balfour shares were up 1.4% at 270.40p.
