BBA Aviation CEO Pryce disembarks after 10 years

BBA Aviation chief executive Simon Pryce has stepped down after 10 years at the aviation support services provider, with non-executive director Wayne Edmunds taking the role on an interim basis until a permanent successor is found.

Having integrated the $2.1bn acquisition of US peer Landmark Aviation and due to personal family circumstances, Pryce has brought forward his intended retirement to the end of June.

Edmunds, who has been a non‑executive on the board since 2013, has experience as a CEO from his time at Invensys, where he was also CFO.

Pryce will remain available to the board throughout his notice period.

"Simon leaves the Group in a strong position and it continues to perform well and in line with expectations," said chairman Nigel Rudd, who hailed Pryce's leading the group through the downturn and in the transformation over recent years.

"I worked closely and successfully with Wayne Edmunds during our time together at Invensys plc and his appointment as interim CEO allows the board to conduct a rigorous process to identify the right successor for the next stage of BBA Aviation's development."
