BlueRock Diamonds says 12 carat diamond valued at $104k

AIM-listed diamond producer BlueRock Diamonds said on Tuesday that the 12.12 carat diamond recovered in July at its Kareevlei mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa has been valued at $104,000.

Executive chairman Mike Houston said: "This is our fifth diamond recovered with a value of above $100,000. Now that we are operating in pure Kimberlite again following the development of KV Main we expect an increasing incidence of higher value diamonds."

At 1000 BST, the shares were up 5% at 50.90p.
