Bodycote to open UK aerospace, power generation facility

Bodycote said on Tuesday that it planned to open a new facility aimed at supporting the aerospace and power generation markets in the UK and Europe.

Located at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham, Yorkshire, Bodycote's new facility will offer a number of heat treatment processes.

Simon Blantern, vice-president of Bodycote's European aerospace, defence and energy heat treatment division, said: "This investment demonstrates Bodycote's continuing commitment to align resources to serve both the aerospace and power generation markets."

The FTSE 250 firm said the new facility should become fully operational later in 2018.

Bodycote shares had ticked up 0.78% to 1,028p at 0930 BST.
