BT offers wholesale fibre customers long-term price certainty on FTTP technology
UK telco giant BT will offer its wholesale communications provider customers long-term price certainty on its FTTP technology via a special offer.
BT said on Thursday that the new offer had been developed after "extensive engagement" with customers and aims to encourage adoption of the full-fibre broadband network the firm is building across the UK.
The FTSE 100-listed firm stated the offer will be open for participation between 1 October and 30 March 2022, with the long-term pricing certainty set to last until 30 September 2031 and be available across the entire FTTP footprint.
BT added that discounts will also be available to communications providers.
Katie Milligan, a managing director of BT's Openreach division, said: "We believe this offer makes full-fibre a must-have for every home and business, and it means more people could start benefitting from our most revolutionary and reliable broadband sooner.
"More than 1.0m homes and businesses have now ordered ultrafast, ultra-reliable full-fibre broadband over the Openreach network. BT is investing £15.0bn to build the gigabit-capable technology to 25.0m UK premises by December 2026 and it's making the technology available to 43,000 premises every week, with more than 5.0m homes and businesses already able to place an order."
As of 0825 BST, BT shares were up 0.75% at 195.45p.
