Bupa announced on Friday that it had completed its acquisition of private dental provider Oasis Dental Care, following regulatory referral from the European Commission to the UK Competition and Markets Authority.

The board said it was an important milestone for Bupa, with the acquisition playing a “significant part” in its strategy to offer customers high quality dental services across the UK.

Bupa said it will become a major provider in the UK's £7.1bn dental market, with more than two million dental patients and more than 400 clinics.

“We're delighted to announce that Bupa's acquisition of Oasis Dental is now complete,” said UK managing director David Hynam.

“There's strong customer demand for high-quality, value-for-money dental services that are convenient and easy-to-use.

“Bupa and Oasis have a shared commitment to putting patients first, and we look forward to welcoming the Oasis team into the Bupa family.”

Justin Ash, Oasis CEO, said Bupa is a “fantastic permanent home” for the Oasis business.

“Both organisations care deeply about patients and people, and both are focussed on delivering high quality clinical care.

“We look forward to the continued success of Oasis under Bupa ownership.”
