Capita has announced a reshuffle of its board as it looks to simplify its organisational and management structure to better position itself better for future growth.

The company, which provides technology-enabled customer and back office business process management services, said it has changed how the divisions report to the board to increase oversight.

The group said it was reorganising its current businesses and operations into six divisions, each of which will be led by an executive officer. These include public sector partnerships, public service partnerships, professional services, asset services, digital and software services, and IT services.

The executive officers will have overall responsibility for their division’s operational excellence, client satisfaction, financial performance and profitable growth and will report directly to chief executive officer Andy Parker.

The former position of chief operating officers, to whom the divisions used to report, has been removed.

Capita said the new structure will provide greater management strength and depth across all of its operations to address the distinct requirements of its client partnerships and service offerings.

In addition, it will accelerate and enhance the focus on emerging technologies to ensure clients benefit from leading digital solutions, artificial intelligence, robotics, open data and Internet of Things.

The revamped organisation will provide a deeper sales and business development focus and greater support in driving organic growth, and “maintain and develop the best talent and capabilities to deliver valuable outcomes for all clients”.

Capital also announced the appointment of Vic Gysin to the newly-created role of group operations and performance director, with overall responsibility for working with the divisional executive officers and their management teams.

At 1305 GMT, the shares were up 0.2% to 578.71p.
