Capita says it has not received an offer from CVC

Capita said on Thursday that it has not received an offer from private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.

The outsourcer put out the statement in response to press speculation that CVC was looking to bid for the company after a slump in its share price.

This is Money reported that CVC had its eye on Capita, whose shares have fallen 82% this year. It also said CVC might be facing competition from a rival suitor interesting in buying the company’s education software division, which Capita put up for sale earlier this year.

At 1140 BST, the shares were up 9.2% at 31.98p.
