Stockbroker Cenkos Securities rallied after saying it was not being investigated by the Serious Fraud Office.

The statement followed a report in the Sunday Times suggesting that the company had handed over a cache of documents to the SFO in relation to Watchstone Group, formerly known as Quindell, which is being investigated by the SFO.

Cenkos used to be nominated adviser to Quindell.

“In particular, the company wishes to confirm that it has not been asked to provide, and nor has it provided, any information to the Serious Fraud Office in relation to any investigation being undertaken by the SFO and that the company is not itself the subject of any SFO investigation,” Cenkos said on Tuesday.

The stockbroker added that it is currently working with its advisers to address and rectify the position in relation to the inaccurate reporting referred to above.

At 0915 GMT, Cenkos shares were up 9.2% at 161p.
