Centamin chairman Josef El-Raghy to retire after 20-year stint
Centamin's long-standing executive chairman, Josef El-Raghy, will retire from the Egyptain gold miner at the end of 2018.
The FTSE 250 company said it will announce a non-executive successor by the end of June and that El-Raghy will remain on board to help ensure a smooth handover.
Centamin has also hired former Acacia Mining operations chief Mark Morcombe as chief operating officer, with his role effective from earlier this week.
Furthermore, chief financial officer Ross Jerrard, who has been in the role since April 2016, will be promoted to the board from 5 February.
Alison Baker, a former audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young specialising in natural resources companies, has been appointed as a non-executive director. Baker is also a NED at Kaz Minerals.
