Industrial LED lighting company Dialight announced the appointment of Wai Kuen Chiang as its chief financial officer, and an executive director, on Wednesday.

The London-listed firm said the effective date of Wai Kuen's appointment would be announced in due course, reflecting the notice period with her current employer.

It said her appointment followed a “thorough” recruitment process, led by the board.

Dialight said Wai Kuen would bring almost three decades of experience in large listed multinationals in the industrial manufacturing and electronic sectors, most recently as group financial controller of FTSE 250-listed Coats Group.

Over her nine years in Coats, she held a number of senior global and regional finance roles, before moving onto a corporate role in 2017.

Prior to Coats, Wai Kuen's career included working for Goodrich, Canon, Technicolor and Gardner Denver.

She has a Bachelor of Accountancy from the National University of Singapore, and qualified as a chartered accountant with EY.

Wai Kuen would succeed interim CFO Ronan Sheehy.

“We are delighted to welcome Wai Kuen to the Dialight team,” said chief executive officer Fariyal Khanbabi.

“She has significant financial and commercial experience at a number of leading international businesses, and we look forward to her assistance in driving the Dialight strategy forward.”

At 114 BST, shares in Dialight were up 3.62% at 250.76p.
