Anglo American Platinum sells stake in JV

Anglo American shares were given a little extra lift on Thursday as its Anglo American Platinum subsidiary sold a stake in a joint venture for roughly $135m.

Johannesburg-listed AmPlats confirms that it has accepted an offer to sell its 33% interest in the Bafokeng Rasimone platinum mine JV for a total 1.86bn rand.

AmPlats' Rustenburg Platinum arm entered into a sale and purchase agreement on 4 July with Royal Bafokeng Platinum for the deal.
