Elementis confirms new CEO appointment

Specialty chemicals company Elementis said Paul Waterman will become the new group chief executive (CEO) early next year.

In a short statement released on Monday, the FTSE 250 group confirmed the current CEO of BP Lubricants, who had been named as CEO-designate in early October, will step into his new role on 8 February.

Waterman will replace outgoing CEO David Dutro, who will step down from his current role on 7 February but will be appointed as special advisor to the board for a three-week period starting on 8 February to aid the transition process.

Elementis shares were up 0.45% to 243.00p at 0816 GMT on Monday.
