Essential components manufacturer Essentra has appointed Rowan Baker to the role of chief financial officer, with effect from 5 November.

Baker, who will succeed Jack Clarke in the role, joins Essentra from Laing O'Rourke, where he has served as CFO since 2017. Prior to this, Baker was the CFO of McCarthy Stone.

Chief executive Scott Fawcett said: "Rowan is a highly experienced chief financial officer. I am delighted she is joining the board and the company as her financial expertise and plc experience will further support the delivery of our growth strategy.

"On behalf of the board and the company, I would also like to thank Jack for his contribution to successfully establishing Essentra as a pure-play components business."
