Virtual reality content creator EVR Holdings has entered into partnership with Festival Republic - a division of Live Nation - to broadcast Wireless Festival live via its MelodyVR platform, it announced on Thursday.

The AIM-traded firm said MelodyVR would be the exclusive streaming and VR partner for Wireless 2019, live streaming from the festival across the globe, giving an “infinite number” of fans “the best view” as the festival took place between 5 July and 7 July.

As part of the launch event for MelodyVR's mobile app, users would be able to instantly join the Wireless Festival live in VR on their smartphones.

“Wireless Festival has cemented itself as the leader in the festival market, selling out in less than 24 hours the past two years,” said Festival Republic managing director Melvin Benn.

“This festival first collaboration with MelodyVR is taking Wireless to a global audience, giving all fans the chance to be there whilst bringing together ground-breaking technology with a tech savvy music loving audience.”

Anthony Matchett, chief executive officer and founder of MelodyVR, added that Wireless had “always been forward thinking”, explaining that for their audience, the connection between technology and music was a “perfectly natural” one.

“It's a pleasure to be working together and using this sold-out event as a launch platform for our new mobile app, opening up the exciting potential of VR to a bigger audience than ever before.”
