Feedback PLC forms cancer diagnosis joint venture

Medical imaging software company Feedback PLC announced the incorporation of a joint venture company, Prostate Checker, with Spain’s QUIBIM, to develop a product for the detection and diagnosis of prostate cancer.

Feedback said that in order to facilitate this move, it has granted a licence for some of the intellectual property of its TexRAD texture analysis product to Prostate Checker.

Prostate Checker will combine texture analysis with other image analysis parameters from QUIBIM to develop an integrated product which would potentially assist clinicians in diagnosing and assessing treatment options for prostate cancer.

Dr Angel Alberich-Bayarri, chief executive officer of QUIBIM, said: “I am sure that we can develop the most advanced MR imaging solutions for prostate cancer diagnosis in the market which wouldn't be possible with independent strategies.”

At 0945 BST, Feedback shares were up 10.1% at 2.45p.
