SEGRO’s group finance director Justin Read announced his intention to retire on Wednesday, having served in the position since August 2011.

The FTSE 250 firm’s board said it was now commencing a search for a successor, with a further announcement to be made in due course.

"It has been a great privilege to have played a part in the strategic repositioning of SEGRO over the past few years,” said Read on his retirement.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed working at SEGRO and I look forward to ensuring a smooth transition to my successor."

SEGRO chief executive David Sleath said Justin had been a key member of the team during the repositioning of the business over the last five years.

“His stewardship of the finances of the company has placed SEGRO in a strong position to take advantage of opportunities to come.

“I am pleased that Justin will continue to play an active role in the business until his successor is in place,” he added.
