Finsbury Food Group completes Johnstone's Just Desserts acqusition

Bakery products manufacturer Finsbury Food Group has completed the acquisition of Johnstone's Just Desserts for an undisclosed amount.

The London-listed company first unveiled plans to acquire the cake producer, which supplies a number of coffee chains in the UK, on 6 May, as part of its strategy to expand into the foodservice cake channel and in particular the national coffee shop segment.

“Johnstone's Just Desserts will be a bolt-on acquisition and is in-line with our strategy to diversify into new channels,” group chief executive John Duffy said last month.

Finsbury Food shares were up 0.23% to 85.70p as of 08:42 on Tuesday.
