Construction company Galliford Try said its facilities management business has been appointed to the government's new Crown Commercial Services Facilities Management Framework.

In a joint venture with OCS Group, Galliford’s FM unit has been appointed to the Total Facilities Management lot of the framework, worth up to £3bn, under the name of Sigma Support Services.

It has also earned a place on the Hard Facilities Management lot worth up to £500m.

Executive chairman Greg Fitzgerald said: "It is tremendous news that our FM business has been appointed to such a significant government framework. The FM sector is becoming increasingly important to us as a business and this new appointment demonstrates that we have an excellent proposition to offer our clients."
