Galliford Try secures £31.2m construction project in Scotland

Galliford Try's Scottish business Morrison Construction has secured a £31.2m contract to build a school in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire.

The new Greenfaulds High School will form part of the North Lanarkshire Council's Schools and Centres 21 scheme.
Galliford will invest an extra £0.7m in the funding of the project.

Executive chairman Greg Fitzgerald said: "The successful financial close of Greenfaulds High School follows closely behind the announcement by North Lanarkshire Council to award Morrison Construction a place on their £100 million framework.

"We look forward to working with the Council to create buildings that will serve the whole community, as well as significantly enhancing the facilities for education in the region."

Shares were up 0.57% to 1,242.9p on Tuesday at 15:30.
