Construction firm Galliford Try said on Thursday that its building division has signed a £69m contract to build the new Paisley Grammar School Community Campus on behalf of Renfrewshire Council.

The school is being funded by Renfrewshire Council and Scottish Futures Trust, as part of the Scottish Government's Learning Estate Investment Programme. It will feature new all-weather sports pitches and a 300-seat theatre, as well as new educational facilities that will accommodate up to 1,380 pupils.

Chief executive Bill Hocking said: "As our recently updated Sustainable Growth Strategy makes clear, education remains a core market for our business, and we are delighted to be working once again with Renfrewshire Council on this ambitious new school campus.

"We look forward to creating a high-quality new facility that will make a positive contribution to the local community."
