Games Workshop Group announced the appointment of Mark Lam as its new non-executive chair on Thursday, effective 1 November.

The FTSE 250 company said Lam, who had been an independent non-executive director and the senior independent director since 2023, would succeed John Brewis.

Brewis, as noted in its recent annual report, had decided not to stand for re-election at next year’s annual general meeting, and had asked the nomination committee to begin the search for a successor.

Games Workshop said Lam would bring extensive experience as a board chair and director, having held senior roles in retail, telecommunications, and healthcare across international markets.

He is currently chair of the Royal Free London hospital group and a non-executive director at Lowland Investment Company.

Brewis would step down from his role as non-executive Chair on 1 November, and would retire from the board on 31 December.

Games Workshop said it would appoint a new senior independent director in due course.

At 1300 BST, shares in Games Workshop Group were down 0.27% at 11,020p.
