Gardner Aerospace takeover of Northern Aerospace gets quick CMA clearance
The Competition and Markets Authority announced on Friday that it had decided, on the information currently available to it, not to refer the merger of Gardner Aerospace Holdings and Northern Aerospace to a Phase 2 investigation.
Gardner Aerospace was planning to effect the merger by acquiring Northern Aerospace.
The competition regulator said that meant it had cleared the anticipated acquisition of Northern Aerospace by Gardner Aerospace.
It came just one day after the CMA announced its merger inquiry, following remittal of the merger back to the CMA from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
The Secretary of State had announced their decision not to refer the merger to a Phase 2 investigation under public interest provisions, also on Thursday.
