Genel Energy CFO to stand down following FY results

Oil production firm Genel Energy revealed on Tuesday that chief financial officer Esa Ikaheimonen had announced his intention to leave the company on 16 March.

Genel Energy said a search to replace Ikaheimonen, who will depart the company following its 2021 full-year results, was ongoing and added that an announcement will be made in due course.

Chief executive Bill Higgs said: "Our financial results will be a testament to Esa's time at Genel, as they will show a Company in a strong financial position, with a resilient and proven business model and the flexibility to utilise the balance sheet to grow the Company. On behalf of everyone at Genel, I would like to wish Esa all the best in his future endeavours."

As of 0825 GMT, Genel Energy shares were up 0.25% at 134.60p.
