Grafton Group expands in London through T Brewer acquisition

Builders’ merchant and DIY company Grafton Group has expanded its reach in London after it acquired T Brewer & Co on Tuesday.

The FTSE 250 company, which has operations in the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Belgium, purchased the London-based specialist timber business for an undisclosed sum.

T Brewer, which has three branches in Clapham, Enfield and Amersham, generated revenue of approximately £14m in 2015.

In a statement, Grafton said the deal extends coverage of the merchanting market in the London area and provides another opportunity for the group’s profit growth.
