Henderson European Focus Trust has strengthened its board with the appointment of funds industry veteran Robin Archibald as a non-executive director.

In a statement to the London Stock Exchange on Thursday, HEFT said the appointment would take effect from 1 March.

Archibald, an experienced corporate financier and chartered accountant, has specialised in the UK closed-ended funds sector for over 25 years.

In the past, he was worked for Winterflood Investment Trusts, and prior to that with other advisory firms including SG Warburg and NatWest Markets.

At present, Archibald is a principal of StockBridge Advisers, a corporate finance advisory firm specialising in funds and corporate advice. He also serves as a non-executive director at Capital Gearing Trust.

At 1558 GMT, HEFT shares were unchanged at 956p.
