IAG orders four new Airbus A330s to expand long-haul fleet

International Airlines Group has converted four of its Airbus A330 options into firm orders.
The FTSE 100 airline group said on Thursday it will order two Airbus A330-300s and two A330-200s for Aer Lingus and Iberia, respectively.
Aer Lingus will receive its aircraft next year while Iberia will get the new planes between 2017 and 2018.
The list price for each plane is $207m (£134.5m) and $185m (£120.2m) respectively in 2010, but IAG said it had negotiated a substantial discount.
They would enable the airlines to expand their existing long-haul fleets, as well as bringing both cost efficiencies and environmental benefits to the airlines.
The airline group also announced it had converted 15 Airbus A320neo options announced in 2013 into firm orders.
The aircraft could be used for fleet replacement by any airline in the group, consisting of Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia and Vueling, and were to be delivered between 2018 and 2021.
The A320neo had a list price of $92m (£59.7m) but IAG again said it had negotiated a reduction.
