IMI appoints Jamie Pike as next chair

IMI said on Tuesday that Jamie Pike will be appointed as chair with effect from 1 January 2025, with current chair Lord Smith of Kelvin due to step down at the end of this year.

Pike joined Burmah Castrol in 1991 and was chief executive of Burmah Castrol Chemicals before leading the buy-out of Foseco in 2001 and its subsequent flotation in 2005. Prior to that, he was a partner at Bain & Company.

Pike has held roles as chair of Cobham and RPC Group and is currently chair of Spirax-Sarco Engineering and of XP Power. He will be standing down as chair of Spirax-Sarco this year, following the expiry of his nine years as a director.
