Automotive retail and services company Inchcape has appointed Richard Howes as its new chief financial officer.
Howes replaces John McConnell, whose departure from the group was announced in October, and will join the board on 11 April.
He is currently CFO of industrial thread and consumer textile crafts business Coats Group, which has operations in over 70 countries across six continents.
Previously he held the same position at oil field services company Topaz Energy and Marine, and also worked for former FTSE 250 company Geest, an international food manufacturer.
Chief executive Stefan Bomhard said: “We are delighted to be appointing someone of Richard's calibre and experience to Inchcape. He will be a very valuable addition to the business, having demonstrated a strong track record leading finance functions at a number of international public companies.”
