Medical technology company Inspiration Healthcare announced on Monday that its wholly-owned subsidiary SLE, which was acquired in July last year, has received an order worth more than £1.25m to supply ventilators to China.

The AIM-traded firm said the ventilators were sold through its Chinese distributor, and would be delivered within the next three months.

It said the new order followed the receipt of regulatory approval from China’s National Medical Products Administration on 21 April for SLE's ‘SLE6000’ model, and was in addition to the order announced at that time, which was valued at £0.25m.

“We are delighted to be making such strong progress in China within such a short space of time since receiving regulatory approval, and this new order certainly helps to strengthen the outlook for the group going forward,” said chief executive officer Neil Campbell.

“As I have stated previously, China represents a significant growth opportunity and, whilst this order does not change our expected outcome for the year, it is another boost to our confidence as we continue to develop Inspiration Healthcare's position in this important market.”

At 0949 BST, shares in Inspiration Healthcare were up 0.82% at 148.2p.
