Keller Group appoints Venu Raju as executive director

Ground engineering specialist Keller Group announced the appointment of Dr Venu Raju as executive director with effect from 1 January, replacing Dr Wolfgang Sondermann who will resign from the board at the end of December.

Venu began his career with Keller in Germany in 1994 as a geotechnical engineer. Following appointments as managing director for Keller Singapore & Malaysia in 1999 and as business unit manager for Keller Far East in 2009, he was appointed managing director for Asia and to the executive committee in 2012. In 2016, Venu was appointed Engineering and Operations director.

Chief executive officer Alain Michaelis said: “We look forward to welcoming Venu to the board in 2017. He brings a deep knowledge of our core specialism, geotechnical engineering, together with a broad understanding of Keller and its operations, to the board, assisting in our continued goal of being the world’s leading geotechnical contractor.”

At 1525 GMT, Keller shares were up 0.4% to 809.50p.
