Property services firm Kier Group has been boosted by the award of two contracts for the construction of several projects in the education sector.

The company confirmed on Tuesday it had been awarded several places on the Education and Skills Funding Agency’s (ESFA) latest four-year framework, which in total is worth up to £8bn.

Having been one of the key contractors on the previous version of the regional contractors framework, Kier will provide work for educational services in order to deliver new facilities to schools and learning centres.

The projects include high-value operations worth more than £12.5m across England, in addition to 12 regional lots worth up to £4.5m each.

CEO Haydn Mursell reiterated his belief that Kier’s healthy relationship with the education sector would bear fruits for the property group.

"This award demonstrates the strength of our relationship with the Education and Skills Funding Agency and maintains our leading position in the education sector,” said Mursell.

“We look forward to continuing our work with providers of educational services to deliver vital schemes under the framework."
