Britain's decision to leave the European Union could have a significant impact on the airline sector, according to CEO of Lufthansa Carste Spohr.

Mr.Spohr said that the airline would maintain its full-year guidance for a slight increase in adjusted earnings, as reported by Marketwatch.

The earnings will be above the €1.8bn quoted in 2015, but Spohr believes that it is difficult to make plans due to ongoing political uncertainty in Europe as well as the increased threat of terrorism.

With pressure from Ryanair and Easyjet, Lufthansa is currently restructuring to become more competitive. For long haulf lights, the German company is also facing increased competition from Emirates and QatarAirways.
