M&C Saatchi appoints former Sportech CFO as new FD

M&C Saatchi has appointed Mickey Kalifa - the former chief financial officer of online gambling and entertainment group Sportech - as its new group finance director with effect from 14 January.

Kalifa will succeed Jamie Hewitt, whose departure was announced back in September. M&C said Hewitt will remain on the board until 30 March 2019 to ensure an effective handover.

Kalifa was at Sportech from 2008 to 2017 and is currently non-executive director of Zoo Digital. He is a chartered accountant, having qualified with PwC and has a strong background in the media, technology and sports industry.

He has also held executive roles across a number of organisations in the UK and USA, including Liberty Global, Sky and Disney.

At 1540 GMT, M&C Saatchi shares were up 0.4% to 292.10p.
