Microsoft has offered a new deal on its long-running attempt to buy computer games maker Activision in an effort to gain approval from UK competition authorities.

The US software and tech giant on Tuesday said Activision would sell its non-European streaming rights to Ubisoft Entertainment as part of the new offer.

Microsoft would also not acquire the cloud streaming rights to all current and future Activision games released during the next 15 years.

Ubisoft would compensate Microsoft for the cloud streaming rights to Activision’s games through a one-off payment and through a pricing mechanism with an option that supports pricing based on usage.

The UK's Competition and Markets Authority said it would start a new investigation and the statutory deadline for a decision is October 18, 2023.
