Mike Ashley battles ScS to acquire Sofa.com

Sports Direct is said to be going head-to-head with ScS Group to acquire the struggling furniture company Sofa.com.

Mike Ashley is involved in another takeover deal after already acquiring struggling retail chains such as House of Fraser and Evans Cycles recently.

He is in the final round of bidding alongside ScS group and thee consultancy firm handling the auction KPMG said a deal would be finalised in the coming days, reported Sky News on Tuesday.

According to the report Ashley sanctioned a multi-million-pound bid on Tuesday since Sofa.com holds concessions in a number of House of Fraser stores.

It is the third business linked Ashley since the year began as he has also been mentioned in the auctions of HMV and Patisserie Valerie.
