Mondi sees FY earnings higher than 2017

Paper and packaging giant Mondi said it expected full year underlying earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation to be higher than 2017's €1.482bn.

In a trading update, Mondi said it expected basic underlying earnings to rise between 25% - 29% to 186 – 192 cents.

Basic EPS was forecast to increase 21% - 25% to 167 - 173 cents and basic headline EPS 25% - 29% to 182 to 188 cents.

Special item net charges after tax were expected to come in at €92m of which €81m was recognised in the first half.
