Morrisons involved in legal battles with property developers

Wm Morrison is involved in legal rows with a number of property developers over sites it no longer wants to build on, according to reports.
The supermarket chain is involved with a number of ongoing court cases, sources told the Sunday Telegraph, adding that these could result in multi-million pound pay-outs to the claimants.
One particular site is in east Cornwall, where developer Wessex Investors is waiting for the court's decision on whether Morrison will be forced to uphold an apparent agreement to build a 53,000 square foot superstore.
The grocery retailer is arguing that it is unable to proceed due to excessive noise conditions imposed by local authorities.
The report comes just weeks after the company announced plans to close a further 11 stores, on top of the 10 closed so far this year already and the 140 M Local shops offloaded in a £25m sale.
