Moss Bros appoints new FD and COO

Specialist menswear retailer Moss Bros has appointed Tony Bennett as group finance director and Paula Minowa as chief operating officer.

Bennett, currently the FD at Charles Tyrwhitt, will take over the role from Robin Piggott, who announced his intention to retire in September.

Piggott will step down at the annual general meeting in May and it is expected Bennett will join the business on 15 August.

Bennett has been at menswear retailer Charles Tyrwhitt since 2009, having been head of commercial finance at Selfridges Retail and chief financial officer at Confetti Network.

Meanwhile, Minowa will join the company on 1 March in the newly-create role that will see her take accountability for the customer journey across all channels and territories.

She was previously the CEO for German lifestyle retailer Strauss Innovation and has held a variety of general management, brand management and merchandising roles for leading retailers including Ann Summers and ASDA.

Chief executive Brian Brick said: “Tony has considerable experience across a variety of different consumer businesses, with different channel strategies and will no doubt bring valuable insights to the business.

“Paula brings strong experience in brand management, multi-channel expertise and first class general management credentials in International businesses.”

At 0905 GMT, Moss Bros shares were up 1% to 101p.
