Norcros appoints Shaun Smith as FD

Bathroom accessories and fittings supplier Norcros has appointed Shaun Smith as group finance director with effect from 4 April 2016.

In a statement on Thursday, the company said its move for Smith follows an announcement on 23 November 2015 of the intended resignation of Martin Payne. The departing FD will continue as a director of Norcros until 12 May 2016 to ensure a smooth handover to his successor.

Smith was previously group finance director at Aga Rangemaster (formerly Glynwed International) from 2001, up until its recent takeover. He began his career in retail management and corporate treasury at Marks and Spencer before joining Glynwed International in 1989, becoming group treasurer in 1999.

Commenting on the appointment, Nick Kelsall, group chief executive officer of Norcros, said: "I look forward to the contribution of someone of Shaun Smith’s high calibre and deep experience as we continue to drive the business forward.''
