Northgate appoints former Spirit Pub CFO as FD

Light commercial vehicle hire specialist Northgate has appointed Patrick Gallagher as group finance director with effect from 22 February.

The company, which announced last month that Chris Muir would be stepping down from the role, noted the incumbent will be leaving Northgate at the end of March and will provide continuity over the period until his departure.

Gallagher’s most recent appointment was group chief financial officer at Spirit Pub Company from 2011 until its acquisition by Greene King in June 2015.

He was group CFO at The Rank Group from 2008 until 2011, and has held senior finance roles at Quadriga Worldwide, Dell Inc. and Wang International.

Chairman Andrew Page said: “I am delighted to welcome Paddy to the board. He is a very experienced public company finance director, with a wide breadth of experience across a number of sectors and a proven track record.

“I am confident that Paddy will make an important and valuable contribution to Northgate's future profitable development."

At 0810 GMT, Northgate shares were up 1.3% to 337.90p.
