Nostra Terra Oil and Gads has appointed Kristian Ewen Ainsworth as its new non-executive chairman, effective immediately.

Ainsworth will succeed Adrian Blennerhasset, who has stepped down from the position to pursue other interests.

As a chartered management account and a fellow of the Institute of Petroleum, Ainsworth will bring "wide industry experience" to the role, said Nostra. He has also worked in the industry for 27 years at various stages of the oil and gas life cycle, starting at ConocoPhillips in the 1980s and most recently finishing a six year stint as finance director of Gulf Keystone Petroleum.

"I am delighted to welcome Ewen to the Board and I am sure that his extensive experience will be a strong asset to the Board as we embark on the next level of growth for the Company," said chief executive Matt Lofgran.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sir Adrian for his contribution over the last eight years."

As of 0930 BST, Nostra Terra was trading 6.7% lower at 0.16p.
