Peter Hetherington appointed IG Group permanent chief executive

IG Group has announced that Peter Hetherington has been appointed as the company’s permanent chief executive.

Hetherington assumed the role of interim CEO in October after the retirement of Tim Howkins.

He was previously chief operating officer of the FTSE 250 company and has been on the board since 2002.

“Peter has been central to the development of IG to this point and the Board is confident that Peter is the right person to lead IG and to deliver the next phase of growth,” said chairman Andy Green.
