Ryanair flies higher as Laudamotion adds to passenger numbers

Ryanair announced a 13% rise in total passengers for the month of February on Monday, to 9.6 million people.

The Dublin-based low-cost carrier said of that, 9.3 million passengers were carried on Ryanair flights, which was up 9%, while the remaining 0.3 million customers were on its Laudamotion acquisition.

Its total load factor for February was 96%, with the Ryanair operation boasting a load factor of 96% as well, and Laudamotion enjoying a load factor of 94%.

On a rolling 12-month basis, the Ryanair group’s passenger numbers were up 9% at 141.2 million, with its load factor also reaching 96% for the 12 months ended 28 February.

“Ryanair operated over 53,000 scheduled flights in February with over 93% arriving on time excluding ATC delays,” the airline’s board said in its statement.

It claimed that was the best punctuality of any major European Union airline.
